Prof.dr. Arnold Tukker receives an honorary doctorate
Prof.dr. Arnold Tukker, one of our ambassadors and one of the first environmental scientists ever, received an honorary doctorate from the Linköping University (LiU) on the 12th of November, 2022. The Swedish University, LiU, granted prof.dr. Tukker an honorary doctorate for his scientific work towards establishing a Circular Economy.
Leader in Sustainability
The doctorate granted by LiU is even more special, as LiU is responsible for leading one of the world’s largest projects on Circular Economy. Linköping University approaches the idea of a Circular Economy from various perspectives, being a valued partner in cooperation with large companies such as SAAB, Volvo and Electrolux.
In the past 20 years, prof.dr. Arnold Tukker has worked closely with researchers at LiU, having coordinated major European research projects on Resource Efficiency. Therefore, prof.dr. Tukker is awarded the honorary doctorate for his work in providing invaluable knowledge and helping to inspire countless research projects.
Prof.dr. Arnold Tukker’s colleagues at the Institute for Environmental Sciences (CML), at the Leiden University, are likewise very proud of him. ‘This is an absolutely stunning achievement...’ says Professor of Ecotoxicology Martina Vijver. ‘...Especially when you consider that Arnold is one of the first environmental scientists to receive such an honorary doctorate. As colleagues at the CML, we are as proud of this achievement as he is.’
