Leiden University is on the verge of completing Phase 2 of the extensive renovation of the Gorlaeus building. The facility will provide state-of-the-art research and educational resources for the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. The building will bear the name Gorlaeus. It is gratifying to note that the renovation is progressing steadily, with the aim of promoting academic collaboration and knowledge exchange.
By 2028, the building will be fully completed, encompassing an area of nearly 100,000 square meters. The first part of the building was put into use in 2016, and in the coming years, the existing structure will be expanded in two phases to create a sustainable, future-proof, and modern working environment for students.
