The AI Lab of Leiden University of Applied Sciences, co-founded by Bastiaan Groot, has spoken to Obsession with a proposal for a collaboration. The AI lab offers a practice-oriented environment for the application and research of artificial intelligence. It is difficult for education to deal with technological developments and that is why it is good that a practical solution has been devised. It enables Obsession to investigate how AI can actually add value to their organization. Hans Klaver (Account Director) of Obsession explicitly: "By having students from the AI Lab work together in working groups with our data, we can develop sustainable AI solutions that are specifically aimed at the events industry. This collaboration with the AI Lab offers Obsession new opportunities to discover and exploit the practical applications of AI.”
Vision on innovation
The collaboration between Obsession and the AI Lab is rooted in a common vision: harnessing the potential of technology to enrich events and deliver a more impactful outcome. Last year, Obsession Dialogues was hosted, focusing on how data can enrich events. Now Obsession wants to bring this data even further to life with the help of AI. Sharing different types of data with the AI Lab, including briefings, visitor results and event evaluations, is central to this collaboration. However, it is very important to treat the privacy and security of the shared data carefully. In light of this, Obsession recognizes the need to sit down with clients in advance and obtain their approval for sharing specific data. Hans Klaver emphasizes: “Our aim is to treat these aspects with the utmost care, striving for a balance between exploiting the significant benefits, such as more efficient processes, stronger customer relationships and a more sustainable approach to event management, and respecting the privacy and security of the data involved."
LiveTime Changes
During the upcoming Obsession Dialogues – LiveTime Changes, an important first step in the process will be taken, during which Bastiaan Groot, among others, will take the stage to emphasize the power of AI and all innovative aspects of this collaboration. Obsession will be calling on their partners to share event dates. “This open data approach is critical to driving innovation and opening doors to advanced event analytics and personalized experiences. With the support of our partners, we are opening a new era in event planning.”
The steps that follow include forming a project group and collecting the necessary data. “Our goal is to not only have gathered insights, but also to be able to offer practical solutions by the end of 2024,” explains Hans Klaver. “This project, while still in its early stages, underscores Obsession and the AI Lab's commitment to pushing the boundaries of event planning and management.”
Obsession strives for a total solution with an integrated AI dashboard. This dashboard prevents repetition of mistakes and compiles proposals based on proven success strategies. Hans Klaver emphasizes: "With this approach we strive for an optimal customer relationship in which we can not only learn from our mistakes, but are also able to provide even better advice than now." This is at the heart of the future capabilities that Obsession and the AI Lab want to explore and develop.
