The ROBUST consortium has recently received 25 million euros from the Dutch Research Council (NWO) to help strengthen fundamental research towards Artificial Intelligence (AI). As a part of the ROBUST consortium, the Leiden-based interdisciplinary research program, Society Artificial Intelligence and Life Sciences (SAILS) includes the esteemed researchers, prof.dr.ir. Boudewijn Lelieveldt, prof.dr. Aske Plaat, and prof.dr. Niels Schiller.
ROBUST’s main goal is to develop trustworthy AI technology to help resolve society’s issues in critical sectors such as healthcare, logistics, media, food and energy. The amount of 25 million is to be used in the next ten years to develop AI technology.
