Nominalization: the view from syntactic approaches to word formation
Artemis Alexiadou gives a lecture on syntactic theories around nominalisations, with a special focus on complex event nominals (CENs), in Leiden on 20 February 2025.
On 20 February 2025, at an LUCL Colloquium in Leiden, Artemis Alexiadou will discuss the structure of nominalisations from syntactic perspectives. She will discuss the dynamics of complex event nominals (CENs), including the interaction of transitivity and head formation. This talk will offer new insights into how languages deal with nominalisations and their cross-linguistic implications.
