ECCI’s mission is to promote excellence in the diagnosis and management of congenital CMV infection.

To achieve this mission, our specific objectives are to:

  1. Create and sustain a diverse, multidisciplinary, international network of individuals with experience in congenital CMV infection in pregnancy and childhood
  2. Promote the exchange of information among individuals and multidisciplinary groups who have expertise in congenital CMV infection through scientific meetings and educational workshops (e.g. the Joint workshop with European Society for Clinical Virology (ESCV), in Crete in April 2023)
  3. Promote and carry out collaborative scientific projects and innovations in congenital CMV infection
  4. Facilitate international scientific and clinical guidelines on the diagnosis and management of congenital CMV infection
