Medical Delta Conference
Welcome to Leiden, European City of Science 2022. The Medical Delta Conference you are attending is part of this very special year, in which Leiden will be in the spotlight of science in Europe. Leiden is the first city to organise a 365-day festival around this prestigious title, aiming to share knowledge, science and discoveries among everyone with a curious mind. We hope you enjoy your time here in Leiden.
About the venue
The Hooglandse Kerk stands in the heart of the historical city of Leiden. It is one of the most beautiful and impressive churches of the city. Originally a wooden chapel dedicated to St. Pancras, it was first used for worship in 1315. It was soon replaced by a stone structure in the same location. At the end of the 14th century, they began to build a gothic church. The process was to take around 150 years and would never be completed. The church, now called the Hooglandse Kerk, still stands today, its large gothic windows shining like a medieval painting. Church services still take place every Sunday.
