Dutch Bio Science Week takes place this year from 22 to 29 June in Leiden
The third edition of Dutch Bio Science Week (formerly Life Sciences & Health Week) will run from 22 to 29 June 2024. The week started in 2022 as part of Leiden ECS22 and has grown into an annual eight-day event.
Dutch Bio Science Week takes place in Leiden: the beating heart of the Dutch Life Sciences & Health ecosystem and home of the Leiden Bio Science Park. A week of diverse activities, it invites everyone aged 4 to 104 to discover how groundbreaking developments are shaping the future of our health: from access to exclusive laboratories to lectures and workshops on bioscience and more. There is also diverse programming for different audiences: from students to researchers, entrepreneurs to policymakers, talent, and the general public

Leiden Bio Science Park invites you to an Open Day where the doors of innovation are open to the public. This event offers a day of exploration and learning, suitable for everyone aged 4 to 104. Discover what happens in the secret laboratories and buildings with tours, hands-on workshops and inspiring lectures. Participants include Biopartner, the Foodlab of Hogeschool Leiden, Rijksmuseum Boerhaave, BTF, the Faculty of Archaeology with bone workshops, and Corpus, all ready to showcase their contributions to science and health.

Highlights from LSH Week 2023
Unimaginable
In the exhibition “Unimaginable” “Onvoorstelbaar", Rijksmuseum Boerhaave transported visitors back in time to experience Antoni van Leeuwenhoek's ground-breaking discoveries. They witnessed first-hand the wonders he saw through his homemade microscope in the seventeenth century. The exhibition showcased Van Leeuwenhoek's tools, including microscopes, drawings, and letters, offering a glimpse into the micro-world he uncovered. Visitors explored the advancements in microscopy and learned about Van Leeuwenhoek's pioneering techniques. Despite being a cloth merchant, Van Leeuwenhoek's innovative approach led him to unveil the microscopic realm, forever changing our understanding of the world.

Last year, another successful LSH Week was organized, taking place from June 22nd to June 29th. A diverse array of engaging activities was planned, offering opportunities for participants to meet, network, and connect. Organizing such a full week required considerable teamwork. This edition of the Life Sciences & Health Week commenced with the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Bio Science Park Entrepreneurs Association (OVBSP) on June 22nd and concluded with the inaugural RegMed XB Annual Conference on June 28th and 29th at Corpus.
