The 14th of March: CORPUS' 15 Year Anniversary!

CORPUS, on the edge of Leiden, will celebrate its 15th anniversary on the 14th of March. Besides a festive lustrum-arrangement, CORPUS will celebrate throughout the entire year with events for young and old. 

An anniversary of 15 years is also the moment to look forward. Behind the scenes, CORPUS is hard at work making plans for the future. With this, connectivity plays a large role, and naturally, so does carrying out the vision of CORPUS: a more healthy lifestyle has a positive impact on health, productivity, and humanity's welfare. CORPUS wants to help people worldwide to make more healthy choices. Knowledge is essential in this. In the experience, visitors experience how extraordinary the human body is. CORPUS Congress Centre connects closely to this, because knowledge is shared here every day. 

But CORPUS' ambitions reach farther. One of those ambitions is to establish a speakers' house which will provide interesting speakers for events. Using these speakers, CORPUS wants to help business guests acquiant themselves with CORPUS' vision and how the human body works. You can take being nervous, for example; everyone is nervous on occassion. Janna Marie Bas-Hoogendam (a teacher at the University of Leiden / LUMC), one of the future speakers of the speakers' house, explains what happens when nerves change to feelings of fear. What is normal, and what changes do you see in the body and brain when fear comes into play? A workshop for laughing is also one of the possibilities. 

Another point for the future is the home base of CORPUS, the Leiden Bio Science Park. CORPUS really wants to become the main location of this large economic Dutch hotspot. Not only for events, or to come to with visitors to do something entirely different for a little while, but to also become a place where one can enjoy oneself after work. To give a boost to that, on the 31st of March the first ever LBSP-AfterWork-drinks  will take place, for people who work or study at the Bio Science Park. But first, the kick-off to a beautiful lustrumyear, on the 14th of March!
